Interview: Caitlin Keeley
An Interview with Caitlin Keeley
Caitlin teaches at Iam Yoga Midtown; you can catch her classes at 645 pm every Friday night!
Tell me about your yoga background.
My daily practice started when the old studio opened on the east side of Yonge – about 9 years ago. At first, I couldn’t touch my toes. Also, I laughed out loud when someone cued side plank – like they’d told us all to fly. But, I started to feel stronger, and I came to the studio every morning at 6:30am for a long time, and everything changed. For example, I can touch my toes now. And do side plank without LOLing.
What are you working on right now in your practice and/or in your life?
Staying present and grateful and peaceful is a forever practice for me. I am not a naturally relaxed person. I have to make a sincere effort.
What do you find most appealing about yoga?
The opportunity to stretch, get strong, and potentially chill out enough to become a nicer person.
Who is your biggest role model?
I’m going to say it… my parents. They are both really cool and confident just being themselves.
If you could have dinner with any famous person, living or dead, who would it be?
Robert Downey Jr., Basquiat and Russell Brand. That’s more than one. We’d have a dinner party.
Who would you cast as yourself in the movie version of your life?
Nicole Ritchie.
