Who we are and the IAM difference
The name ‘IAM’ is derived from the Greek word meaning ‘to be present,’ a concept that underpins our approach to teaching. We encourage students to break free from ‘autopilot’ modes of thought and movement, guiding them toward mindfulness and intentionality. Whether your motivation for starting yoga or Pilates is physical, emotional, or spiritual, we believe every reason is valid, and we support you in finding your unique path.
Our instructors tailor each class to maximize the effectiveness of postures, breath, and movements for both mind and body, ensuring that everyone can find their own meaning of ‘yoga’ or ‘Pilates.’ We offer a mix of heated and non-heated classes, with about half of our sessions held in a warm environment. The heat helps keep muscles supple, allowing for deeper, safer movements, while also aiding in detoxification through a healthy sweat.
We don’t stick to a single style of yoga and fitness. Instead, we draw from a variety of modern and traditional practices, including mat Pilates and reformer Pilates, to provide a comprehensive selection of classes. Some of our signature offerings include Core Flow, which combines Pilates and yoga for enhanced core strength, and Detox Flow, a series of twisted postures and backbends designed to cleanse the body. We also provide traditional yoga styles like Yin, Meditation, Jivamukti, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Hatha.
Our varied class schedule minimizes muscle fatigue and encourages a balanced approach to yoga and Pilates, making it suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced practitioners. We encourage you to explore different classes regularly to maintain a healthy mind and body.
