Raeya Reformer Method Teacher Training

The Raeya Reformer Method is a modern group fitness Reformer Pilates training inspired by the precision of classical Pilates and the energy of dance, barre, and functional movement. Drawing on over a decade of experience working with clients of all abilities, this course equips instructors with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to lead safe, effective, and engaging group Reformer Pilates classes.

Through this training, participants will learn intelligent movement design, clear cueing, and thoughtful class structure, enabling them to deliver high-quality sessions that are both fun and dynamic. The course emphasizes understanding human anatomy and biomechanics, providing a solid foundation to teach with safety and creativity.

This training is designed to be accessible to both aspiring and current Pilates instructors who share a passion for Pilates and a willingness to learn. Students will explore the history and lineage of Pilates, appreciating its classical foundations while also embracing its modern evolution in the fitness world.

With a strong grounding in classical principles and practical Reformer skills, instructors completing the Raeya Reformer Method Teacher Training will leave with the tools to confidently lead group classes, adapt exercises for diverse clients, and creatively design sessions that honour both tradition and innovation.

REFORMER Certification

In this course, you’ll learn the foundations and principles of Pilates, including basic anatomy, the history of Joseph Pilates, and a carefully curated repertoire of beginner, intermediate, and advanced Reformer exercises. The training also incorporates fitness-inspired movements, modifications, and the use of small equipment, giving you tools to teach safely, clearly, and confidently. You’ll learn how to build intelligent class programs that are both engaging and accessible, with energy, challenge, and fun for a wide range of clients. Completion of the course requires additional practice hours and a final practical exam to achieve certification.

This is the RAEYA REFORMER Method, designed to prepare you to lead technically sound, dynamic, and inspiring Reformer Pilates classes.

Prerequisites

It is strongly recommended that participants have a certification or teaching experience in Mat Pilates, Yoga, dance, personal training, or a similar fitness modality. Alternatively, if you do not have prior teaching experience, it is recommended that you have attended a minimum of 30 Pilates classes.

Meet your instructor

Alison Raeya has been a dynamic presence in the Canadian boutique fitness scene for over a decade, blending her dance background with a passion for mindful, intelligent movement. A former professional dancer and lifelong student of the body, she discovered Pilates and yoga through her own journey of injury recovery, inspiring her to help others move with strength, safety, and confidence. Alison is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel, and Therapeutic Pilates, and also holds certifications in Barre, Lagree Fitness, and multiple yoga modalities. She is a Master Pilates Teacher Trainer through Body & Flow, an ITTAP-approved program, committed to elevating the next generation of instructors.

She has designed and led teacher trainings nationwide, mentoring instructors who now teach across Canada, and is the founder of The Raeya Reformer Method, a signature fitness-style Reformer program shared in partnership with studios across the country. Passionate, knowledgeable, and endlessly dedicated, Alison empowers her students to connect deeply with their bodies, build resilience, and discover the joy of movement.

Who is this course designed for?

This course is for aspiring and current instructors who want to confidently teach group Reformer Pilates classes. It is suitable for those with a background in Mat Pilates, Yoga, dance, personal training, or similar fitness disciplines.

Teaching experience is recommended but not required. If you haven’t taught before, attending at least 30 Pilates classes is suggested. Unsure? Contact us to review your experience.

You will learn how to safely and effectively teach group Reformer Pilates classes. The course covers Pilates fundamentals, basic anatomy, the history of Joseph Pilates, beginner to advanced Reformer exercises, fitness-inspired variations, modifications, and small equipment usage. You’ll also gain skills in class design, cueing, confident teaching in a group setting, and industry tips and recommendations.

The course includes 55 hours of in-person instruction, practical training, and small homework assignments. To achieve certification, you must complete additional practice hours and a final practical exam.

Yes! Upon completing the 55 in-class hours and fulfilling post-course requirements—including 20 self-practice hours, 20 practice teaching hours, 10 observation hours, and a final practical exam—you will earn your Raeya Reformer Method Certification upon successful completion.
