changing my view of things…

I truly feel that I have made a personal discovery through yoga. It has changed exercising, my eating and sleeping patterns, and more importantly how I view myself since my perspective has changed to one that is much more energetic, positive and happier in many ways. When I walk into the stdio and into the class I don’t feel judged nor do I feel the stares of judging competitors. After all, it’s just me, my body and my mind focusing and doing the best we can at that given moment. Every day I learn something new, and hope that I will get to do the same tomorrow. There is no feeling like the one after a great class, when your mind is crystal clear and everything makes just a bit more sense. – anonymous

dealing with chronic pain…

My first experience with yoga was hard and uncomfortable. I suffered from chronic pain in my back as a result of a painful skiing accident. Beyond this I was unmotivated by my lack of flexibility and my inability to withstand all the given postures left me discouraged. Even so, I remained persistent and I kept on coming back. Luckily I did so and the benefits of yoga were clear soon enough. Yoga is such a huge part of my everyday living now that couldn’t possibly imagine my life without it. It has given me much greater flexibility and the pain in my joints has virtually disappeared. The way with which I now deal with difficult situations and stresses of every day life is virtually incomparable to the past. Without any doubt, yoga is the biggest discovery of my life. – anonymous

my first yoga experience…

As a full-time waiter, it’s my responsibility to always interact with people in a friendly, confident manner. I consider this aspect of my job to be a steep challenge. I have been in a deep depression since the loss of a loved one, and anxiety attacks have become a daily occurrence, I soon came to the realization that pretending to be calm at work was simply a way of fooling myself and avoiding the real issues. It was a band-aid that was ripped off as soon as I went home. I needed a way to calm my nerves and regain my confidence, real issues. It was a band-aid that was ripped off as soon as I went home. I needed a wau to calm my nerves and regain my confidence. While I have often heard good things about the benefits of yoga. I was still skeptical. Unsure of the science behind it, and not being a very spiritual person, I considered it a marketing trend, not much else. However, a friend from work convinced me to try it for a week, and I have never looked back. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was very helpful. I showed up for my first session completely unprepared for how it would affect me. Lying in the heated studio for 10 minutes before class helped me unwind, and breathing became a very soothing experience. As the class began I found myself forgetting about my outside life and concentrating on my body. Holding the positions allowed me to feel muscles that I was hardly aware of. The difficulty was set a perfect balance, easy enough to feel the strain of my posture, while still challenging enough to motivate me to get better. Only after [the class] did I realize that I had achieved a state of relaxation that I have not experienced in years. I found myself at ease with the past, and excited about the future – ryan

on the variety of classes…

I have been practicing Hot Yoga for 6 years, and after attending a variety of different studios, I have to say that Iam Yoga is my favourite by far! One of the best things about this studio is the diversity of classes; it offers everything from a vigorous power flow class, to a gentle yin and meditation class and all in the heat !!! The instructors are fantastic; they are able to create a balance in each class between ensuring that beginners are comfortable and that the more experienced students are able advance their practice. Everyone is extremely friendly and the studio itself has a very welcoming and calm feel to it; I love finishing my work day here. The stress of my day seems to disappear as I walk off the busy street into the relaxing space of the studio. – karen
